Hood Famous 2020 Case Study
Everything I created and executed at the drop of a hat within two fiscal quarters after the world caught on fire and pivots were all the rage.
̌
One day business was running as usual. The next day, everything changed. Our small team had to move quickly and intentionally, and my role in graphic design and social media evolved vastly.
Our immediate pivot sifted through the chaos and made sense of several moving parts: I was responsible for vividly communicating the shut down of in-person business, weirdly celebrating our 1-year anniversary, humbly asking for donations, continuing our online shipping, offering new e-gift cards, and advocating for the legislative relief of small businesses.
As we remained closed, I created an on online marketing campaign to communicate our new and ongoing programs. Our second pivot implemented a brand new delivery menu and continued ongoing shipping and wholesale.
Our third pivot re-opened our cafe for in-person takeout. I created graphics for use in social media, email newsletters, website, cafe signage, and most importantly our playbook outlining our safety guidelines to cautiously and confidently welcome back customers. View the full playbook here.
In addition, our team converted our former cafe dining space into a fully curated handmade marketplace with local artists and businesses as well as a pantry with housemade goods.
Lastly, we pivoted to provide additional offerings to our dear customers in the cafe as well as wholesale retailers. I designed a series of package solutions for a full line of new, ongoing, and special limited edition baked goods and pantry items.
