Every year, Seattle Central Community College and it’s student organizations/clubs throw an outdoor festival with food, games and live performances. There’s so many different lives intertwined at Seattle Central. So many different generations and languages, customs and cultures. It’s awesome. With that said, here are some posters promoting the event performances by Macklmore & Ryan Lewis, Helladope, C-Style, Mr. Supreme, Open Blue and Broken Engirsh. Oh, and did I mention it’s free? Go!

If you were in attendance at the 10th annual International Migrant/Worker’s Day march/rally in Seattle on May 1, 2010 – then there’s a good change you probably saw this flyer. I was commissioned by El Comite to make this flyer, in English and Spanish, to promote one of the largest annual marches locally.

International Violence Against Women Act

Logo I created for Gabriela USA’s national campaign, iVOW.

Across the United States, in New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles, Filipino women launched a nationwidecampaign to fight violence against women. The campaign, spearheaded by GABRIELA USA, is called Voices of Women versus Violence Against Women or iVOW. Member organizations of GABRIELA USA have already begun to host educational workshops on violence against women and calling for individuals to take a vow to fight women’s oppression and all forms of violence committed against them. The iVOW campaign is a comprehensive campaign that addresses issues such as sex trafficking and prostitution, domestic violence, rape, incest, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, sexual discrimination and exploitation, limited access to reproductive health care, and violence as a result of political repression.

To learn more about the iVOW campaign, community members are encouraged to attend local events in New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles. The campaign will continue with events throughout March, withcommemorations of International Women’s Day (March 8^th). Please contact gabrielawomen@gmail.com for further details.

MLK Week 2010

Worked this MLK Week poster needed on campus. Initially thinking about what to do, I was gonna head for something sweet and solemn. But after looking at hella MLK posters, it was obvious that what the public knows about this man is two things: that he had a dream and that he was all about peace. His face and his name are apart of pop culture. No one focuses on his work with Malcom X, on his speeches closer to the Vietnam War, or that he even had other speeches other than “I Have a Dream”. And who is better suited to popularizing meaningful people into pop icons? My man Shepard Fairey, that fucker. So I decided to get my Fairey on and make the poster with that style, haha.
